This sealcoating project took place in Rockford, IL. This project consisted of

sealcoating, cracksealing, and re-striping the existing parking stalls. The process

starts with cleaning the parking. After all the debris is off the lot, the cracksealing

takes place. Once the cracksealing is complete then the sealcoating process begins.

After the sealcoating has cured, then the striping of the existing parking stalls are

painted.

Paving Machine Shed Rockford,IL

Paving a high traffic location can be very difficult to execute, but with the proper per-planning, management, and expertise any project is possible! This paving project was completed in 2 days. During the first day, edge milling took place. Milling takes place when a parking lot is overlay-ed. This procedure allows new asphalt to meet existing edges. The second day consisted of paving the entire parking lot and re-striping. During this whole time, the restaurant was open for business. This allowed customers to enjoy their favorite dining time!

We want to give a special thanks to AAT Infrared and William Charles for making this project possible.

Salvation Army Belvidere, IL

Bel Rock Asphalt Paving has completed the Salvation Army project in Belvidere, IL.

This project involved excavating of the front parking lot. Coring unstable soil and install proper base stone. Also we had to install a manhole for water drainage. Half of the lot was overlay-ed with HMA pavement and front was a complete replacement of 3”  HMA pavement.

Bel Rock wants to say a special thanks to the Salvation Army and everyone involved! Below is a kind note from John Wolf:

Dear SA Board and Lt’s and staff,

Thank you, thank you, and thank you one and all for your efforts, your time, your concerns and your help with our parking lot project!  Many, many prayers have been answered with the laying of the asphalt yesterday at our Main Street facility and please take time to drive by when you have a few moments. Congratulations and thanks to everyone at BelRock, Nick Becker, Dean Condell  and Mr. Jerry Jacques for their tremendous work on our project.  And please, take time today in your prayers to thank Emmitt and Bessie Sullivan for their wondrous gifts to Belvidere and our Salvation Army.  Without their generosity and vision, I don’t personally believe this project would have been accomplished.
Again, thanks again everyone and may God bless your day, today and every day!
John

Tips for Choosing a Contractor

A Few Tips for Choosing A Contractor
  1. References. Don’t just ask, check them. Call customers near you who had work done some time ago. Ask if you can come visit to look at the work.
  2. Get it ALL in writing. A good contractor will give you a detailed written quote with all specifications, quantities, and costs included. This includes all costs for preparation, labor, materials, taxes, permits, clean up after the job etc.
  3. Make SURE the contractor has both general liability and worker’s compensation insurance. If not you could be left wide open for damages to you or your property or lawsuits from your customers or even the contractor’s employees. A million dollars is a minimum for liability/worker’s comp. insurance in the pavement industry. A reputable contractor will gladly furnish certificates of insurance and will never mind you verifying coverage with his agent.

(Note: Some smaller contractors who only provide one service such as striping may be sufficient with $250-$500,000 liability and self-employed individuals with no employees may be unable to obtain worker’s comp. The consumer must decide the level of protection they are comfortable with.)

We also recommend that you ask to visit a current job site where the contractor is working. See if this is the way you would want your job done. Talk with the property owner about how he found out about the contractor and if things are going as planned.
